A Love Filled Cupcake Inspiration Challenge

Hi there! :) Are you all ready for Superbowl Sunday? I am not really into the game this year, but I do look forward to watching the commercials. What can I say...I love a good commercial!

Check out the beautiful cupcake inspiration photo for this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge, sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads. Don't you just love those cupcakes!?! They look so rich and lovely. I know I would LOVE to have one! LOL

Please excuse the not so fabulous photo of my creation for the CIC this week. My crafty mojo is currently on hiatus, and apparently my barely there photography skills went with it. The main image is from one of my favorite Anita Be Stampin rubber stamp sets from our most recent release, Love Bear.

Making this card proved to be a real challenge for me, and things went wrong right away as I began coloring my main image. I decided to once again dust off a coloring medium that I hadn't used in awhile on my first attempt, using an aquapainter and dye inks. With my second attempt I went back to my "best friend" of coloring mediums, Copic markers. In retrospect I should have stuck with the second image and completed it. Nope, the third try is a charm, right? Wrong! LOL I laid down way too much marker ink which made the image look streaky. As a result, I took an old cloth and dabbed colorless blender to try to remove the ink. I would have tried again if not for pure exhaustion. ;)

Please scoot on over the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge Blog to check out all of the creations and play along with us!

Have a great day!

  2. I love your chocolaty bear! I tried using distress inks and an aqua painter the other day for my mini digi release card and had to go back to Copics. Wow, there is a serious learning curve for those things, huh... I give mad props to those that can color that way. It was HARD! lol
Super cute card though. I would have never been able to tell your mojo was on hiatus.

oh and I have to ask.. what was your fav commercial? Mine was little Darth Vader.. He was ADORABLE!
